The publisher Shogakukan has revealed that the manga Isekai Ryūji: Shikō to Kyomu no Buzz Recipe Tabi will reach its final chapter on August 17 through the Manga ONE platform, in Spain time (UTC+2). Although early access to the final episode has already been available since last Sunday, its official publication will be on the aforementioned date.

The work, released in August 2024, was written by Rintarō Hamaguchi with supervision by Japanese chef and YouTuber Ryūji, while the art was in charge of Hishiwo Miyazawa. The first compilation volume was published on February 12 of this year.

A mix of cooking, fantasy, and social media

This peculiar manga follows Ryūji, a contemporary chef who is transported to an alternative world where his modern recipes and viral style make him a unique figure among knights, monsters and magic. The story combines elements of classic isekai with comedy, creative cuisine, and digital culture, taking direct inspiration from the charismatic and popular style of the real Ryūji.

A little more about the creators of the manga

Illustrator Hishiwo Miyazawa is also known for his work on That Time the Manga Editor Started a New Life in the Countryside, a series published in Kodansha's Evening magazine between November 2020 and March 2022. This work had a total of four volumes, all of them available in English thanks to Kodansha USA Publishing.

With the closure of Isekai Ryūji, fans say goodbye to a fresh and entertaining proposal that fused the best of contemporary Japanese cuisine with fantastic adventures from another world.
