Makoto
Sanda: A Strong Author
Makoto
Sanda is no stranger to the world of manga and light novels. Together
with Isuo Tsukumo, he worked on the spin-off The Ancient
Magus' Bride: Wizard's Blue, which was published between April 2019 and March
2024. The publisher Seven Seas published the manga in the
West, with its eighth volume available from April 2024.
Among his
most outstanding works is also Rental Magica, published between
2004 and 2013 in 24 volumes, which inspired a 24-episode anime
released in 2007. In addition, he is the author of The Case Files of
Lord El-Melloi II, set in the Fate/stay night universe,
which received an anime adaptation in 2019 with the title Rail Zeppelin
Grace note, and a television special in 2021.
Sanda's
versatility also led him to be the Dungeon Master of the role-playing
campaign "Red Dragon", which inspired the Chaos
Dragon series. Names of great weight in the industry such as Kinoko
Nasu (Type-Moon, Fate/stay night) and Gen Urobuchi (Fate/Zero)
participated in that game, consolidating Sanda as a key figure in the creation
of rich and complex narrative universes.
