The official YouTube channel of Japanese singer-songwriter Tatsuya Kitani has published the video clip of his new song "Manazashi wa Hikari" ("Your gaze, twilight"), which has become the opening song of the anime The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity, released in the summer season of 2025.

A youth story on screen

The video clip stars Soya Kurokawa, an actor who has recently stood out in the films Kokuho and Kaibutsu, and Tsubaki, known for her participation in a popular Pocari Sweat commercial. Together they play an emotional story of young first love.

Musical success and its physical release

"Manazashi wa Hikari" debuted digitally on July 6, peaking at #33 on Oricon's weekly digital singles chart. The physical CD release, with an exclusive illustration inspired by the anime, is scheduled for September 10 (local time in Japan, early morning of the same day in Spain).

A recurring artist in anime openings

Tatsuya Kitani debuted in 2018 under the Warner Bros. Home Entertainment label and is recognized for performing themes for series such as BleachOshi no Ko and Jujutsu Kaisen. His melodic and lyrical style has made him one of the most sought-after musicians in the anime industry.

A little more about the anime and its history

The TV adaptation of Saka Mikami's romance manga began airing on July 5 in Japan, and is available on Netflix globally. The series is directed by Miyuki Kuroki at CloverWorks, with a script by Rino Yamazaki and character design by Kohei Tokuoka.

At the Chidori Institute, a school for boys with the worst grades, Rintaro, a young man with an intimidating appearance but a kind heart, studies. While helping out at the family bakery, he meets Kaoruko, with whom he connects immediately. However, Rintaro discovers that she is a student at the exclusive Kikyo Institute for young ladies, which unleashes a series of obstacles and misunderstandings that will put their budding relationship to the test.
