Kimetsu
no Yaiba continues
to sweep the Japanese box office. The new film Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen
Castle, released on July 18, 2025, reached an impressive 314.2 billion yen
in revenue after 52 days in theaters, with more than 22 million tickets sold.
The film broke the record for reaching 300 billion fastest in the history of
Japanese cinema, surpassing even its predecessor, Mugen Train.
Distribution
production company Aniplex confirmed that the film reached
$300 billion in just 46 days, beating the record that Mugen Train achieved
in 59 days. The growth did not stop there: 100 billion in just 8 days, 200
billion in 23 days and the 300 billion mark in less than a month and a half.
Everything indicates that this first chapter of the "Mugen Castle"
trilogy could reach and even surpass the all-time record of 407.5 billion set
by Mugen Train in 2020.
Through a
statement, Aniplex expressed its gratitude: "We want to
thank from the bottom of our hearts every spectator who attended the movie
theaters and also all the workers in the theaters who made it possible for the
film to reach the public."
The
