Shueisha's Shonen
Jump+ portal confirmed on Monday that artist Mato will
release a new manga titled Ittan Cafe ni Shimasenka? (Why
Don't We Go to a Café for a While?) on September 28. The play
promises a warm and delicious story set in a coffee shop.
Mato's
career
Mato is
remembered for having created The Emperor and I (Emperor to
Issho), published on Shonen Jump+ in 2015 and completed in
2017 after four compilation volumes. The work reached international audiences
thanks to Viz Media's digital license in English.
In
addition, Mato worked on the art of the first nine volumes of
the popular Pokémon Adventures manga, cementing his style in
the industry.
A
long-awaited return
With this
new project, Mato opts for a more relaxed and endearing tone,
moving away from conventional action or fantasy stories. Fans hope to discover
how the author will bring to life an everyday story in a café atmosphere, with
the artistic stamp that characterizes him.
