About the work

The story follows Kyotaro Ichikawa, an introverted high school student who spends his days fantasizing about murdering his popular classmate, Anna Yamada. However, after repeatedly meeting her in the school library, Kyotaro discovers the absent-minded and vulnerable side of the young woman. This discovery transforms his dark impulses into a genuine desire to protect her, starting an unusual teen romantic comedy.

The original work, written and illustrated by mangaka Norio Sakurai, ended its serialization with a total of fourteen compilation volumes after being published on various platforms of the Akita Shoten publishing house, including the Weekly Shonen Champion magazine. The literary universe of the franchise is kept active thanks to the publication of a spin-off manga titled Love Comedy ga Hajimaranai, written and illustrated by Haika Nanasaka, which distributed its first volume earlier this year.
