The Yozakura clan's explosive espionage dynamic finally has a return date. The production company NBC Universal revealed a new promotional video announcing that the second season of Mission: Yozakura Family (known in Japan as Yozakura-san Chi no Daisakusen) will premiere on April 12.

The preview served to present a fragment of the songs that will set this new stage. Idol group Sakurazaka46 will perform the opening theme titled "What's 'KAZOKU'," while music project Pilaf Alien will be in charge of the closing theme titled "Shalala." The series will occupy the coveted Sunday block "Nichigo" through the MBS and TBS networks.

Details about Mission: Yozakura Family

The production of this sequel presents an interesting restructuring in its technical team within the SILVER LINK studio. Creative Mirai Minato is promoted to the position of chief director and remains as general supervisor of the scripts. For his part, the titular director's chair is now occupied by Takahiro Nakatsugawa (who already knew the franchise after working as a storyteller and episode director in the first installment).

The rest of the veteran team returns to maintain the visual and auditory consistency of the work: Mizuki Takahashi in character design, Koji Fujimoto in soundtrack composition and Toru Kanegae as sound director.

New Cast Additions

The universe of the series continues to expand, so the production confirmed the arrival of a new talent to give voice to one of the characters that will be added in this story arc:

  • Kaito Ishikawa as Sosuke Michibata

About the original work

The manga, written and illustrated by Hitsuji Gondaira (creator of Demon Prince Poro's Diaries), began serialization in the pages of Shueisha's iconic Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in August 2019. After several years of great success, the comedy and action story reached its definitive conclusion in January 2025, publishing its twenty-ninth and final compiled volume printed in March of that same year.
