Playing
dumb to survive in royalty is a classic strategy, but this protagonist takes it
to a whole different level. The production committee behind the animated
adaptation of The Insipid Prince Furtive Grab for the Throne finally
gave signs of life and released the first technical details of their project.
To the joy of readers who could no longer stand the wait, the series officially
confirmed its arrival on Japanese television for this coming July,
tying its broadcast through networks such as Tokyo MX.
As for the
technical section, the project fell into the hands of a studio already quite
seasoned in adapting light novels, although they decided to put
together a directing team with new blood to give a fresh air to the narrative.
So that the political intrigues do not feel heavy or break the rhythm of the
comedy, the scripts were under the supervision of a veteran writer in
the industry. For its part, the character designs were transferred to animation
by almost perfectly copying the original illustrations of the novel, something
that will surely keep the most purist fans happy.
About
The Insipid Prince Furtive Grab for the Throne
In case you
had never given this franchise a chance, you should know that the story comes
from a successful series of novels that has already sold hundreds of
thousands of copies in Japan. The plot puts us in the shoes of a
prince who, at first glance, is the most ordinary, gray and boring guy in the
entire palace. Literally no one gives a peso for it, but all that is nothing
more than a vile perfectly calculated façade.
In the shadows, this "insipid prince" is a master puppeteer who pulls the strings of the kingdom as he pleases. He spends his time secretly recruiting allies and putting together absurdly brilliant plans to snatch the throne without raising a single suspicion. It's a super entertaining mix of political intrigue, comedy of entanglements and conspiracies, ideal for those who enjoy watching a protagonist win using the brain instead of the fists.
