Moving up in youth football is not just a matter of technique, it is a mental reality check. The production committee behind the second season of the Aoashi anime shared a new trailer and promotional poster of what's to come for the franchise. With this preview it was confirmed that the series will return to television on October 4.

In the video you can feel the tension that Ashito will face now that he is part of the A-Team. The environment is much heavier and veteran players don't seem willing to give it anything. In addition, the promotional image shows the protagonist concentrated on a notebook, making it clear that "thinking football" will continue to be the soul of the story.

Aoashi Anime Season Two Season Details

This stage marks a strong change in production. The animation baton passes to the corridors of the TMS Entertainment studio, who take over from Production I.G. In the director's chair is Kazuki Yokoyama (replacing Akira Sato), while character designs fall to Asami Taguchi and Junko Yamanaka, working alongside Manabu Nakatake.

The task of supervising the scripts remains in the hands of Masahiro Yokotani. For his part, veteran Shoji Hata returns as sound director and Masaru Yokoyama repeats as the original soundtrack manager. The announcement also assured that the entire cast of seiyuus from the last installment will return for this new arc.

What is the story about?

The plot introduces us to Ashito Aoi, a high school student in Ehime who has a huge talent for soccer but prefers not to show it. Because he is so direct, he ends up causing a problem in a match and his career seems to be stopped in its tracks. Everything changes when he meets Tatsuya Fukuya, a former professional player and current coach of the Tokyo City Esperion youth team.

Fukuya realizes that Ashito has an incredible ability to read what is happening on the court. Seeing that potential, he invites him to do the tryouts in Tokyo, putting the boy in a professional environment where physical effort is useless if you don't know how to use your head.

About the original work

Mangaka Yugo Kobayashi began publishing this story in the pages of Weekly Big Comic Spirits magazine in early 2015. To make football feel real, he enlisted the help of Naohiko Ueno in sports research up to volume 17. The series has been a total success, winning major awards and surpassing 15 million copies sold.

The manga finished publishing in August 2025, closing its path with a total of 40 compilation volumes printed in Japan.
