Leaving the
underworld of espionage behind turns out to be a more complicated task than any
infiltration mission. The Kadokawa company has officially
announced that the anime adaptation of the light novels Victoria of
Many Faces will begin airing on Japanese television during the month
of July, through the TV Tokyo network and its affiliated stations.
The update
was accompanied by the release of the first promotional trailer. This video
trailer offers the first official look at the animation of the moving project,
illustrating the contrast between the protagonist's seemingly peaceful life and
the shadows of her lethal past. At the same time, the production committee
revealed the main voice actors and the new members of the technical team.
Victoria
of Many Faces Details
The
animation production takes place at Studio DEEN's facilities.
The general management of the project is Nobukage Kimura. Naohiro
Fukushima takes responsibility for the composition of the series and
the writing of the scripts, while Mina Osawa adapts the
character designs. The team is complemented by sound direction by Satoshi
Yano and musical composition by Moe Hyuga. The planning of
the original work is credited to Frontier Works, with the animation
production by Takayuki Saito and Naoki Sakai.
About
the work
The plot
follows Chloe, an exceptionally skilled spy capable of altering her appearance
and outmaneuvering any adversary. After being betrayed by her superior, she
fakes her disappearance and moves to the neighboring kingdom of Ashberry to
begin an ordinary life under the identity of Victoria. Although she
initially manages to keep a low profile, her tactical instinct and lethal
abilities inevitably drag her into local conflicts, drawing the attention of
the second prince and causing her dark past to begin to catch up with her.
The
original work, written by Syuu and illustrated by Nanna
Fujimi, began publication as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro portal
in December 2021. Its success led Kadokawa to publish the
printed volumes in 2023. The franchise also inspired a successful manga
adaptation illustrated by Komo Ushino, which has been serialized on
the Flos Comic website since December 2022 and currently has
six compilation volumes in circulation.
