Will
Serfort and his sword are ready to continue challenging the prodigies of the
wizarding academy. Following the exciting original announcement of its sequel
in September 2025, the production committee of Wistoria: Wand and Sword (known
in Japan as Tsue to Tsurugi no Wistoria) updated the status of the
project with a new main trailer and a cinematic image. Its premiere scheduled
for April 2026.
The
promotional trailer fulfilled its main objective: to give us a taste of the
visual adrenaline and the new music that will accompany this stage. The
energetic rock band ASH DA HERO will perform the opening theme
song titled "Believers." On the other hand, the ending theme
will be called "Reachlight" and will feature the voice of
singer Shiyui. In addition, it was reconfirmed that the Crunchyroll platform
will maintain the global simulcast for this second season.

Wand and Sword Details
In the
technical section, the production keeps the Actas and Bandai Namco
Pictures studios in charge of the animation, but presents
an interesting rearrangement in its hierarchy. Tatsuya Yoshihara,
who shone as a principal conductor in the first season, is now promoted to the
position of general director. The baton in the direction of episodes falls this
time to Hideaki Nakano (veteran of Saiyuki Reload
Blast and Servamp).
Fortunately,
the creative team retains its pillars to ensure that audiovisual quality does
not decline. Sayaka Ono returns to adapt the character design
and serve as chief animation director, while the talented Yuki Hayashi will
continue to compose the unmistakable soundtrack of the series.
What is
the story about?
The plot
immerses us in a fantasy world where magic dominates absolutely everything. To
fulfill an old promise made to his childhood friend, a young man named Will
Serfort enters the prestigious Regarden Academy of Magic with the firm
goal of reaching the top. The big problem? He is completely incapable of using
magic. To survive and excel in a hostile environment filled with elite
sorcerers, Will must rely on his tremendous physical strength, unwavering
determination, and a seemingly ordinary sword.
About the
original work
This
franchise is the most recent creation of acclaimed mangaka Fujino
Omori (famous in the industry for being the author of Is It
Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?), accompanied by the
spectacular illustrations of Toshi Aoi. The manga began publication
in the pages of Kodansha's Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in
December 2020. Its first major story arc, entitled "Terminalia",
concluded in May 2023, and the work continues to be published at a good pace
with its fourteenth compilation volume printed on the market since November.
