If you thought that historical anime could no longer surprise you and you missed the visual rawness of the creator of Parasyte, we have news that will make your day. After more than two decades of continuous publication and thousands of fans begging for an adaptation, the production committee finally confirmed that the Historie manga will make the leap to the small screen. And it's not just a rumor: we already have the first promotional trailer and the official date, marking this epic debut for the winter season in January 2027.

To bring to life a work with so much historical weight and cultural detail, the animation was left in the experienced hands of the LIDEN FILMS studio. Considering that the original manga written and illustrated by Hitoshi Iwaaki has already exceeded 4.7 million copies in circulation, the pressure to deliver a product of the highest quality is brutal. Thankfully, the first video trailer and new promotional image let us see that the atmosphere of antiquity, period clothes and dense political drama are being adapted with an impressive level of respect.

A strong voice for the king's secretary

Although the announcement mentioned that they already have a large part of the voice cast prepared for the premiere, for now they only let us meet the main talent who will carry the intellectual weight of the story on their shoulders:

  • Nobunaga Shimazaki as Eumenes Recognized in otaku culture for voicing Yuno in Black Clover and Seishiro Nagi in Blue Lock, lending his talent to play this brilliant and loyal historical strategist.

Having such a clear release window already gives the studio enough time to polish every visual detail of the clashes and intrigue. The community that has followed the play since 2003 will finally be able to see if this adaptation does justice to one of the most beloved historical fictions in the industry.

Synopsis of Historie

It is a tale that seamlessly blends real historical research with intense drama filled with ambition, wars, and complex relationships between the most powerful figures of antiquity.
