If there is one thing that the industry knows
how to sell perfectly, it is the romantic drama full of temptation and bad
decisions. The production committee behind the animated adaptation of Kanojo
no Tomodachi (known in the West as My Girlfriend's Friend)
decided to raise the temperature by releasing its first promotional video and a
second visual art. This preview not only showed the daring design of the
protagonists, but also definitively marked the month of October for
its spicy premiere on Japanese television.
To ensure that curves and seductive looks look
impeccable on screen, the animation is in charge of the Quad studio,
operating under the strict supervision of the production company WWWave
Corporation and its new label, Deregula. In the director's chair we
find Takashi Andō, who will seek to adapt the constant tension of
the work supported by the scripts of Gokō Shiraki. The most crucial element of
this series logically lies in the visual appeal, a responsibility that was
placed in the hands of Ryūji Iwata for the character design,
also serving as chief animation director to take care of every last suggestive
detail.
A litmus test for the protagonist
The premise of this intense romance was born
from the pen of the author Jura, serializing as an original
manga on Kodansha's YanMaga Web platform since May
2021. The story puts us in the shoes of Takeru, an average high school student
who has just landed his first girlfriend, the adorable Kaori. However, his
supposedly happy and peaceful life goes straight into the abyss when Tomoko,
his new partner's best friend, begins to harass and seduce him aggressively
taking advantage of his enviable figure. It should be noted that WWWave
Corporation is famous for managing the AnimeFesta television block, specialized
in mature productions that border on adult content, so we can expect high doses
of fanservice without holding back.

explicit content taking the reins of the project
