Digital monsters are ready to celebrate thirty
years of evolution in a big way. The production team of the Digimon
franchise formally announced that a new animated adaptation project
is officially in development and is scheduled to premiere in 2027. The news
came accompanied by a nostalgic promotional image that brings together the
Chosen Children and their most iconic digital companions in the history of the
saga.
This new production is a fundamental part of
the celebrations for the thirtieth anniversary of the brand, whose emblematic
V-Pet-type virtual pet toys were first released in 1997, paving the way for the
premiere of the legendary Digimon Adventure anime in 1999.
Although for the moment the production committee has not
revealed the final title, the work team, the plot or whether it will be a
television series or a film format, the commemorative poster managed to ignite
the enthusiasm of the community.
As the celebrations for 2027 are being
prepared, the franchise continues its regular broadcast on Japanese television
with the series DIGIMON BEATBREAK. This installment originally
premiered in October 2025 and remains in continuous streaming, having recently
started its long-awaited Kyo arc after the broadcast of its thirty-eighth
episode during the month of July. With a fairly active present and a future
full of surprises to reveal, fans of the saga will have quite a few adventures
in the Digiworld over the next few years.
Taking into account that the promotional image
