The survival game that conquered mobile devices
all over the planet is ready to make the big leap to Japanese animation. The
long-awaited animated adaptation of the battle royale
phenomenon developed by Garena, officially titled Free Fire Daybreak,
presented its first official trailer full of action and superpowers. This
ambitious co-production jointly funded by Garena and
publishing giant KADOKAWA promises to bring the game's
frenetic battles to a global scale when it launches in spring 2027.
The story takes us to a near future within the
thriving metropolis of New Dawn, an urban center under the absolute control of
the powerful Horizon Corporation. The plot follows in the footsteps of Kelly, a
sixteen-year-old teenager who becomes involved in the mysterious "Project
Bloom" and awakens the "Limit Break", a superhuman ability
capable of breaking any seal. As remnants of her past begin to come to light,
Kelly will join forces with iconic allies like Hayato and Moco to unmask the
dark secrets of Horizon Corporation and protect the fate of her home.
Production details for a global bet
The project will be animated by the
CANDYBOX studio under the direction of Ken Takahashi. The
script and composition of the series will be supervised by Hotaru
Asafuji, while Kouji Fujimoto, a representative of Sus4 Inc.,
will be in charge of composing the soundtrack. First announced in mid-2024, the
project has been revealing its pieces little by little until it comes across
this first video trailer that shows the visual rhythm and the awakening of
powers that will keep the entire video game fan community on
the edge of their seats.
