No one saw
this twist coming, but one of the most remembered stories of the past decade is
ready to completely rewrite its destiny. Kadokawa's Dengeki Bunko publishing
house officially confirmed that the famous Black Bullet (Burakku
Buretto) light novel saga will return to the market with a reboot project
titled Black Bullet: New World Order, which will not only add
unpublished content, but will change the course of the plot to deliver a
totally different ending from the original.
The
publishing strategy outlined by the publisher will be extremely accelerated,
launching two volumes each month from November 2026 to February 2027. The
installments scheduled between November and December 2026 will compile the
events of the original work with several additions and revisions in the text.
However, the real highlight will come from January 2027, at which point the
narrative will take a completely different direction from the one we knew.
The final
outcome will come in February 2027 with an unprecedented conclusion that will
culminate in the Black Bullet: New World Order 05 Book 2 - Justice
& Unjustice volume, a completely new title that never existed in
the original edition. As if that were not enough, author Shiden Kanzaki will
not rest after closing this cycle, since in the spring of 2027 he will premiere
a totally original work entitled Aku no Shinzui (The
Quintessence of Evil) under the same publishing house.
Written
by Shiden Kanzaki and illustrated by Saki Ukai,
the original light novel series began publication in July 2011 and ran in seven
volumes as of April 2014. The franchise inspired a manga adaptation drawn by
Hon Morino in Dengeki Maoh magazine, as well as a popular anime adaptation
produced by Kinema Citrus and Orange studios in the spring of 2014.
The story
places us in a near future where humanity has been cornered by the Gastrea, a
race of viral parasites that forced the survivors to live behind walls of
monolith metal. The plot follows Rentaro Satomi, a young promoter of Civil
Security, and his initiator Enju Aihara, a "Cursed Girl" with
superhuman abilities, as they take on high-risk missions to protect Tokyo from
total annihilation.
