On the official Twitter account of the Kadokawa publisher Dengeki Bunko, it was revealed that the series of light novels written by Gakuto Mikumo and illustrated by Manyako, Strike the Blood, will come to an end with the publication of the twenty-second volume, next August 7.
Mikumo and Manyako began publishing the light novels through the Kadokawa publisher's Dengeki Bunko imprint in 2011. The publisher published the twenty-first volume on January 10. The play was adapted for manga by TATE, who began serializing the manga in Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine in 2012 and completed it in 2017.
The light novels also inspired a 24-episode anime adaptation in 2013, as well as two seasons of OVAs in 2015 and between 2016-2017. Strike the Blood III, the third season of OVAs, premiered through five releases between December 2018 and September 25. Each installment had two episodes, to bring together a total of ten. A fourth season of OVAs is currently broadcast through Blu-ray releases.
