The spin-off manga Sword Art Online: Girls Ops will end in January

Kadokawa Publishing's ComicWalker website revealed that the spin-off manga written and illustrated by Neko Nekobyou, Sword Art Online: Girls Ops, will end with its next chapter, to be published in Japan on January 8, 2021. The site published chapter 46 on December 11 in Japan.


Nekobyou started publishing the manga in June 2013. The work was moved to the DenPlay Comic website on June 12th after Kadokawa Publishing's Dengeki Bunko Magazine ceased publication in April this year. The work was always published digitally through the ComicWalker portal. Finally, this derivative manga tells the adventures of Lisbeth, Silica and Leafa and the publisher published the seventh compilation volume on August 26th.


Reki Kawahara published the original novels independently between 2002 and 2008. Subsequently, Kadokawa Publishers began publishing them on paper with illustrations by Abec and through the Dengeki Bunko publishing label in April 2009. The publisher published the 24th volume on May 9 in Japan followed by the 25th volume on December 10.


Synopsis of Sword Art Online


In the year 2022, a massive online role-playing game called Sword Art Online was launched. With the help of "NerveGear" technology, players can control their avatars within the game. Kazuto Kirigaya, nicknamed "Kirito", is one of the lucky ones who have in their hands the first shipment of the game. It initiates session to be in the world of Aincrad, full of fantastic medieval weapons and horrible monsters. Nevertheless, in a cruel turn of the events, the players soon realize that they cannot disconnect; the creator of the game has caught them in his new world until they complete the one hundred levels of the game. To make things worse, if they die in Aincrad, they die in real life. Kirito must adapt to their new reality and fight for their survival.
