The anime series “ Lycoris
Recoil ” has announced an exciting new project of original
short episodes. In this new project, six short films will be produced
that will portray the new daily life of Chisato Nishikigi, Takina Inoue and the
other characters on the stage of the LycoReco Café.
Shingo Adachi, who directed the original
series, will be overseeing the project , while each of
the six short films will feature different creators in charge of storyboards
and direction. Additionally, one of the episodes will be directed by
Muru Imigi, the character designer. Details and release date for these
short films will be announced soon.
“Lycoris Recoil” is an original anime that first
aired in July-2022. The story focuses on Chisato Nishikigi and Takina
Inoue, two young agents who work in a secret organization called DA (Direct
Attack). This organization trains girls known as “Lycoris” to fight
crime and maintain peace in Tokyo. Chisato is an exceptionally talented agent
with a happy-go-lucky attitude, while Takina is a serious and dedicated agent
seeking redemption after an incident on a previous mission. Together,
they face various missions and challenges, developing a deep friendship along
the way.
The series was noted for its high
quality of animation, courtesy of studio A-1 Pictures ,
known for its work on popular titles such as “Sword Art Online” and
“Kaguya-sama: Love is War.” Shingo Adachi's direction, Muru Imigi's
character design, and Shuhei Mutsuki's music were key elements that
contributed to the anime's success.
