Production
company King Amusement Creative surprised fans this Wednesday with a
promotional lyric video for the upcoming anime Bad Girl, an adaptation of
Nikumaru's manga. The clip features characters Mizuka Mizutori (played by Kaori
Maeda) and Rura Ruriha (played by Miharu Hanai) performing a cover of the song
"Kanojo no 'Modern...'" by legendary Japanese band GLAY.
The song,
performed by the voice actors, will soon be available as a digital single and
has become a musical teaser that reflects the youthful and energetic tone of
the series.
A school
comedy about girls who break the rules
The story
follows Yū Yutani, a first-year student who has always been The good girl in
class. But everything changes when she tries to get the attention of Atori
Mizutori, the disciplinary committee president and the school's
"madonna." To achieve this, Yū decides to adopt a rebellious
attitude, launching a comedy full of misunderstandings, pranks, and comical
twists.

The anime
is directed by Takeshi Furuta (Shaman King, 2021) at Bridge Studio. The script
is by Shoji Yonemura (Pokémon, Fairy Tail), and Yūki Morimoto is the character
designer. The music will be composed by Arisa Okehazama, known for her work on
Jujutsu Kaisen and The Apothecary Diaries.

original manga
Bad Girl
began serialization in December 2020 in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Carat
magazine. To date, it has four compiled volumes, the latest of which was
released on July 25.
