Penguin Random
House announced on May 2 a new licensing agreement
with Disney Publishing , which will open the door to a new
wave of publications based on franchises such as Disney , Pixar , Marvel , Star
Wars , 20th Century Studios and National
Geographic .
This
agreement covers a wide variety of formats, including manga , novels , children's
books , and reference works, further consolidating the expansion of
these narrative universes into the global publishing market.
Manga as
a new frontier for Disney
Disney had
already ventured into the world of manga through collaborations with publishers
such as Viz Media , Dark Horse Comics and Tokyopop ,
who have published titles under license from Disney Publishing.

line of children's books inspired by Disney intellectual properties.
Star
Wars: The Mandalorian continues its manga adaptation
During the
recent Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 , it was confirmed
that the comic book adaptation of the live-action series “The
Mandalorian” will continue with a fifth volume . This
new installment will feature illustrations by Cristian Polizzi and
a script by Francesco Matteuzzi and Jacopo Silvestre ,
who replace the artist of the previous volumes, Yūsuke Ōsawa .
With this
new alliance, Disney and Penguin Random House are
making a strong commitment to conquering the manga and graphic novel market,
expanding the ways fans can enjoy their favorite franchises.
