Ore de wa Nai Enjō: Akinari Asakura's novel will have manga

The editorial Futabasha has confirmed that the novel Ore de wa Nai Enjō ( I'm not the one on fire) of the author Akinari Asakura will be adapted to the manga format. The announcement was made in issue 13 of the magazine Manga Action, and the debut of the first chapter is planned for the July 15 (UTC + 2) in number 15 of the magazine.


The adaptation will be in charge of the artist Ōtori556 (pronounced "Kokoro"), who will give life to this intriguing suspense story in bullets full of tension and drama.


What is Ore about wa Nai Enjō?


The story follows Taisuke Yamagata, a sales manager whose life takes a radical turn when he is singled out as the alleged murderer of a university student. His face is exposed on social networks and in a short time the whole nation turns against him. With public pressure and justice chasing him, Taisuke decides run away while trying to discover the truth that incriminated him and prove his innocence. What he finds along the way leaves him completely in shock.


The original novel was published in 2022 and it has been so well received that also will inspire a real action movie, whose premiere in Japanese cinemas is scheduled for the September 26 ( UTC + 2 ).


Akinari Asakura, an author who does not stop growing


Akinari Asakura's narrative talent continues to gain recognition. Already in the past, his novel Rokunin no Usotsuki na Daigakusei It was also adapted to both manga and cinema. The manga version, titled Rokunin no Usotsuki no Daigakusei: Plus One, was illustrated by Keiga Ōsawa and it was published in the magazine Young Ace from Kadokawa between June and November 2022. Furthermore, Asakura is the author of Show-ha Shoten!, a manga about comedy and improvement illustrated by none other than Takeshi Obata, known for works like Death note and Platinum End. This collaboration is published in the magazine Jump SQ. since October 2021, and will end with its volume number 11, scheduled to launch the September 4th.
