With this figure, the film ranks as the twelfth highest-grossing Japanese anime film of 2025, just behind The Rose of Versailles, which accumulates 500 million yen.

A solid debut with constant growth

The feature film, which represents a completely new story within the franchise, was released on June 27 in 200 theaters in Japan. During its first weekend, it managed to place itself at number 9 at the box office. By July 4, it had already reached 200 million yen with more than 100,000 tickets sold, and since then it has maintained a steady pace of attendance in theaters.

Crunchyroll will handle its distribution

As previously announced, Crunchyroll has acquired the worldwide distribution rights (excluding Asia) of the film produced by Kyoto Animation. The international premiere will feature Japanese audio and English subtitles, and will soon take place in North America.

A story of emotions and conflict between worlds

As a war between Chaos and Harmony looms, Kanna is torn between loyalty to her friends and her father's orders.

Miss Kobayashi is not willing to let her go so easily, and struggles to restore the bond between Kanna and Kamui. Meanwhile, Iruru discovers a hidden force manipulating the conflict from the shadows. Will they manage to avoid war before it destroys both worlds?

A production with a seal of quality

The film is directed by Tatsuya Ishihara at the prestigious Kyoto Animation studio, with a script by Yuka Yamada and character designs by Miku Kadowaki, who also serves as animation director.
