This
summer, the Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentosho series
kicks off its second part with the long-awaited Bakumatsu
Arc, bringing with it new opening and closing sequences that can already be
enjoyed in uncredited versions.
New
opening: "Ash" by [Alexandros]
The
new opening is accompanied by the song "Ash", performed
by the popular Japanese band [Alexandros]. This piece captures the
dramatic and epic tone of the events that lie ahead in this new phase of the
story.
New
ending: "Enrin" by FAKE TYPE
For its
part, the ending theme features the song "Enrin" by
the duo FAKE TYPE, known for their energetic and experimental
style, which brings a refreshing contrast to the closing of each episode.
A
supernatural journey through the ages
Sword of
the Demon Hunter is
based on the original novels written by Motoo Nakanishi and
illustrated by Tamaki, published in Japan by Futabasha.
The English version, along with its manga adaptation with art by Yu
Satomi, is being produced by Seven Seas Entertainment.
The anime
adaptation is directed by Kazuya Aiura at the Yokohama
Animation Laboratory studio, with series composition by Deko
Akao and character design by Taro Ikegami. The series
premiered on March 31 and officially airs via HIDIVE, with
simulcast available to fans outside of Japan.
Official
synopsis to know the series
During the
Edo period, a priestess named Itsukihime resides in the
mountainous village of Kadono. Jinta, a wandering orphan who,
together with his younger sister Suzune, was taken in by the
community, also lives there. Jinta becomes the protector of the priestess and
ventures into the forest to confront a mysterious demon who
tells him of the distant future and the threat of a Demon
God.
Thus begins
this supernatural historical fantasy that follows the path of
a demon hunter through the centuries, from the Edo period to the Heisei, while
questioning the weight of the sword he wields.
