The
official website of the My Hero Academia anime revealed this
Tuesday that its eighth and final season will premiere
on October 4 at 10:30 a.m. (Spanish time) through
the affiliated channels of YTV and NTV. Along with
the announcement, a new promotional image of this long-awaited installment was
shared.
Fans
from all over the world will be able to vote
As part of the preparations for this final stretch, the special project "My Hero Academia ULTIMATE SCENE RANKING" has been launched, a global vote where fans will be able to choose their favorite scenes of heroes and villains from the previous seven seasons. Voting will be open until September 15, and the results will be revealed during the premiere of the final season. Crunchyroll will be the platform in charge of broadcasting the new season worldwide (except Asia), simultaneously with its broadcast in Japan.
The
original team returns for the closing
The anime
will retain much of its original creative team, with Kenji Nagasaki as
general director, Naomi Nakayama as director, Yōsuke
Kuroda supervising scripts, Yoshihiko Umakoshi and Hitomi
Odashima in character design, Yuki Hayashi in charge
of music, and studio BONES in production.
A review
of the seventh season
The seventh
season, which began with episode 139, premiered in May 2024 following
the airing of a four-episode compilation special titled "My Hero
Academia Memories" in April. Like the previous ones,
it aired on Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. (Spanish time) on YTV and NTV, with
international distribution via Crunchyroll.
A
franchise that continues to grow
The most
recent film, My Hero Academia: You're Next, was released in Japan
in August 2024 and was screened in IMAX, MX4D, 4DX,
and Dolby Cinema formats. TOHO International brought the film to
theaters in the United States on October 11, while the Blu-ray and
DVD were released in Japan on February 19, including the additional
short A Piece of Cake.
