Anime
distributor REMOW confirmed the acquisition of the streaming
rights to Fermat Kitchen, the animated adaptation of Yūgo
Kobayashi's Fermat no Ryōri manga. The first five episodes
will be available from Saturday, August 9 on Samsung TV Plus'
"It's Anime" channel and on its official YouTube channel. The sixth
and seventh episodes will premiere on Saturdays, August 16 and 23 respectively,
following a weekly schedule for the rest of the series.
A story
that mixes a passion for cooking and mathematics
The anime,
which began airing in Japan on July 5 on TV Asahi, follows the story of Gaku
Kitada, a brilliant math student who, after facing difficulties in his
career, crosses paths with Kai Asakura, a talented young chef who
runs his own culinary business. Together they try to create something
innovative at the intersection between their two worlds.

The anime
is directed by Takeshi Okamoto and Satsuki Kashiwagi,
with assistance from Miyuki Kaieda. The production is in charge of
the Domerica studio, which is also in charge of the script and
composition of the series. The character designs are the work of Okamoto and
Kashiwagi, while the music is composed by Satoshi Igarashi.
Musical
themes and success of the manga
The opening
is in charge of the artist OSHIKIKEIGO with the song "Maillard", and
the group DXTEEN performs the ending "Change Over". The
original manga debuted in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine in September 2018
and has over 23 million copies in circulation. Its fifth volume was
published on April 30.
