History where crime and the supernatural intersect

The game The Case Book of Arne was released in 2017 and has gained popularity for its fusion of detective mystery, vampires, and gothic horror. The story follows Arne Neuntöte, a vampire who works as a detective, and Lynn Reinweiß, a young noblewoman fascinated by the creatures of the night.

Their paths cross unexpectedly when Lynn arrives in the hidden city of Lügenberg, a place inhabited by non-human beings. There, he meets Arne, nicknamed "the worst vampire in town", just as a new and bloody crime occurs.

In a world where humanity and the strange coexist, both will join forces to unravel mysteries as dark as they are dangerous. "Come on, human. You can dance happily under the crimson moon," the disturbing trailer promises.

From video games to manga and now to anime

In addition to the game available in English through SteamThe Case Book of Arne has a manga adaptation illustrated by Soraho Ina, published by KADOKAWA since 2018 in the Monthly Comic Gene magazine, aimed at the shōjo public.

Set for release in January 2026 (local time in Japan), this adaptation promises an addictive mix of mystery, gothic aesthetics, and out-of-the-ordinary characters that will appeal to fans of the genre and new viewers alike.
