The production of the anime Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling he announced a new visual, the revelation of his musical themes and the confirmation of his premiere for january 2026. The project adapts the light novels written by Nekoko and illustrated by NAJI yanagida, a work that began as a serialization in Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2015 and over the years it consolidated a considerable reader base.


The statement revealed that the opening theme will be titled “Gliding Claw” and it will be interpreted by Sizuk, while the ending, “Sky Clipper”, will be in charge of the virtual singers TAO and SAK. HIDIVE confirmed that it will be in charge of international broadcasting.

The announcement also confirmed the first cast members. Among the names revealed are:


  • Shunichi Toki like Ilusia — known for his roles as Ares in Helck and Jinshi in The Story of Saiunkoku.
  • Ami Koshimizu as Divine Voice — recognized for playing Ryuko Matoi in Kill la Kill and Holo in Spice and Wolf.
  • Miku Itō like Myria — voice of Miku Nakano in Go-Toubun no Hanayome and Kokkoro in Princess Connect! Re:Dive.

The story follows a protagonist who, after dying, is unexpectedly reincarnated as a dragon egg. From there begins a fight for survival —and self-discovery— in a world full of monsters, magic and challenges typical of the isekai genre. Its tone, which mixes comedy, personal growth and exploration of skills, has made the work a popular read among the light isekai fan public.


Evolution of the original work and its expansion


In addition to their online publication, the novels moved to physical format under Earth Star Entertainment, which published the first ones 12 volumes. Later, Square Enix he took over publication starting with volume 13, taking the series up to volume 16.


In parallel, the manga illustrated by RIVER it began to be serialized in Comic Earth Star in 2017, accumulating eight compilation volumes to date. With this animated adaptation finally on the way, the franchise takes an important step toward reaching new audiences.
