A bittersweet
romance with touches of fantasy will arrive on the small screen. Kadokawa revealed
on Monday that the light novel series Hello, I am a Witch and my Crush
Wants me to Make a Love Potion! (Domo, Suki na Hito ni Horegusuri
wo Irai sareta Majo desu) will have an anime adaptation of Hello I
am a Witch that will premiere later this year.
To
commemorate the announcement, Kamada, the artist in charge of the
manga adaptation of the work, drew a special illustration celebrating the
arrival of the characters on television.

The
original author, Eiko Mutsuhana, expressed her surprise and
gratitude at the news through a statement. Mutsuhana commented that the
adaptation was an "overwhelming surprise" and deeply thanked the
readers, illustrator Kamada, and staff for their support, hoping that everyone
can "gather again in the witch's hermitage" in the anime.
About
the work
The story
follows Rose, a lonely "Lake Witch" who harbors secret
feelings for the royal knight Harij. Her heart breaks when Harij
himself asks her to create a love potion for him. Despite the pain, Rose
decides to accept the assignment to spend time by his side, sending him to
fetch difficult ingredients while the knight begins to visit her daily to feed
her.
The
original novel by Eiko Mutsuhana, with illustrations by Vient,
began on the Shosetsuka ni Naro site in 2019 and is published
in physical form by Futabasha. The manga adaptation of Kamada is
published on Kadokawa's ComicWalker site, with its sixth
volume scheduled for February 5.
