The
melancholy of time and the battles against the remaining threats of the Demon
King will continue their course on Japanese television. Immediately after the
broadcast of its final episode, the production committee officially announced
that the anime adaptation of the manga Frieren: Beyond Journey's End (Sousou
no Frieren) will have a third season, scheduled to premiere in October
2027 through the Nippon TV network.
The
confirmation of this animated sequel was given during the final minutes of the
second installment, where a post-credits sequence showed the imperial
wizard Denken observing his homeland completely transmuted
into gold, anticipating the shadow of Macht, an entity classified
as one of the Seven Sages of Destruction. To accompany the announcement, the
official channels published a new promotional poster focused precisely on the
imposing figure of this demon.

The plot
follows Frieren, an elf mage who was part of the group of legendary
heroes who defeated the Demon King and brought peace to the world. Due to the
almost immortal longevity of his race, Frieren perceives the passage of time
radically differently from humans. After witnessing the aging and passing of
his former companions, he sets out on a new journey with a young generation of
adventurers. The story combines moments of introspection, painful memories, and
deadly magical battles as the protagonist tries to understand the human heart
and the value of ephemeral connections.
The
original work, written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated
by Tsukasa Abe, is serialized in the pages of Shogakukan's Weekly
Shonen Sunday magazine. Manga has established itself as one of the
