Finding light
in the midst of darkness is a classic romance trope, but this series promises
to approach it with exceptional sensitivity. The official site of the animated
adaptation of Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky (Tomei na Yoru ni
Kakeru Kimi to, Me ni Mienai Koi wo Shita) released its second official
trailer this week. The video not only gives us a preview of the
closing theme "Hikari", performed by Yui Sakurai (member of the idol
group FRUITS ZIPPER), but also confirmed Harumi Fuuki in charge of the moving
soundtrack and set its premiere in July, scheduled for the 6th. The
great accessibility effort of the project stands out, since it will have a
special transmission that will include audio description so that blind or
visually impaired spectators can enjoy the work.

From
Paper and Live TV to Anime
The
franchise has a track record of accelerated success that explains this rapid
adaptation. Born as a light novel written by Nanigashi
Shima and illustrated by raemz under the GA
Bunko label in 2023, the work won the grand prize at the 15th edition
of the GA Bunko Prize. Its popularity exploded to such a level that the anime
project was announced in 2025 along with a live-action adaptation,
which was broadcast with great success on Japanese television since December
last year. Now, under the direction of Joe Yoshizaki and the scripts of Yuko
Kakihara, the animated version will seek to replicate that emotional impact.
What is
this moving encounter about?
The plot
immerses us in the life of Kakeru Sorano, an extremely shy first-year
university student who prefers to keep his distance from the rest of the world.
His routine takes an unexpected turn during a welcome party he attends dragged
by his noisy roommate. There he meets Koharu Fuyutsuki, a blind girl who, in
total contrast to him, is cheerful, talkative, and not afraid to talk openly
about her dreams.
The
distance between the two begins to shorten the day Kakeru helps him pick up his
white cane after class. However, the real trigger for their relationship comes
when Koharu confesses a seemingly impossible wish: he wants to see the
fireworks. Through this longing, Kakeru will find a genuine reason to come out
of his shell, accompanying a girl who cannot see physically, but who radiates
the light he so desperately needed.
