The wait is finally over for the fans of
the Kessoku Band girls. After six months of absence, the manga
Bocchi the Rock! has officially resumed its serialization. The new
chapter is now available in the August issue of its magazine, released on June
18, marking the return of the work since its last publication in January.
The talented mangaka Aki Hamaji had
been forced to put her creation on hold due to physical health problems. At the
time, the author was very clear in explaining that the decision to move away
from the drawing board was made after months of complications that required
immediate attention, stressing that her condition was not related to her mental
health, but strictly to the need to recover to draw again in optimal
conditions.
With the premiere of this new chapter, Hamaji
shared a personal update with his readers, confirming that his health has
already fully recovered. The author took the opportunity to apologize again for
the long wait and thanked the constant support of the fans, promising to
continue delivering the same essence that has made Bocchi the Rock! a
jewel of the medium. In addition, he revealed that during these months of
hiatus, several projects that have not yet been made public continued to
advance behind the scenes, so he urged the community to stay tuned for future
announcements.
What awaits us in this return?
The announcement of the return highlights that
this new chapter has the participation of all the members of the Namba Girls.
The plot follows Kessoku Band as they arrive in Osaka as part
of their tour of Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, including a rather sympathetic note
from the author apologizing in advance to the inhabitants of Osaka for what is
to come in the story.
About Bocchi the Rock!
The story introduces us to Hitori Goto, an
extremely shy and socially awkward girl who finds in music a way to break her
shell by joining the Kessoku Band. Together with Nijika Ijichi, Ryo
Yamada and Ikuyo Kita, Hitori embarks on a journey of personal and musical
growth that conquered the whole world after the premiere of its anime
adaptation at the end of 2022. The series became a resounding phenomenon,
making the band's album lead the digital charts of 2023 and giving rise to a
two-part film project in 2024, in addition to the already confirmed second
season of the television series.
