The summer season continues to assemble its
catalog and lovers of reincarnation stories already have another date to mark
on the calendar. The anime adaptation of Towa's light novels, Sekai
Saikyou no Koueitaho: Meikyukuu no Shinjin Tansha (The World's
Strongest Rearguard - Labyrinth Country's Novice Seeker), has released its
second official promotional video. With this advance, the production not only
allows us to listen to a fragment of what will be its main songs, but also set
its global premiere date for July 5, with distribution through the Crunchyroll
platform.
The new footage serves as a letter of
introduction for the musical section that will accompany the adventures of our
protagonist. The opening theme will be titled "license" and will be
performed by the group Redhair Rosy, while the closing song will be
in charge of Inner Journey with the song "Owaranai Yoru
no Mamori-kata". Both themes are intertwined in the trailer to offer a
much clearer perspective on the tone, setting, and team dynamics that will
define the series from its first episode.
Production Equipment
Behind the cameras we find director Yuji
Yanase, who is leading the project within the facilities of the Maho
Film studio. The management and structure of the scripts of the series
are in the hands of Deko Akao, while Eriko Yanagimoto assumes the role as the
lead character designer, bringing together a team with previous experience in
handling fantasy narratives and character development.
About Sekai Saikyou no Koueitaho
The story introduces us to Arihito, a former
office worker who ends up reincarnated in a fantasy world under the role of a
"Seeker". However, unlike classic frontline warriors, her assigned
class is the Backline, an unconventional position focused entirely on providing
critical support in attack, defense, and healing to her all-female party. To
make things more interesting, this particular profession has a curious
advantage: the further back Arihito is placed in the combat formation, the more
affection and sympathy his teammates naturally feel for him as they explore the
dangerous land of labyrinths increases.
The original work began its journey on the
Shosetsuka ni Naro website in April 2017, later having a printed edition by the
Kadokawa publishing house with illustrations by Huuka Kazabana. The concept of
a protagonist focused one hundred percent on tactical support from the back of
the formation breaks a bit with the classic stereotype of the invincible hero
of the front line.
