Natsume Yuujinchou's first game reveals its story and features

A new promotional trailer for  Natsume Yūjin-Chō: Hazuki no Shirushi (Natsume's Book of Friends: August Chronicle), the first video game based on Yuki Midorikawa 's beloved manga , was released this Thursday. The title will be available from June 5 for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam .


An unpublished story with multiple routes


The third trailer reveals that the game will feature an original story with five possible endings , depending on the player's choices. It will also include special events unlocked by giving gifts to different characters, as well as fun minigames with Nyanko-sensei , Natsume's iconic companion.



Designed in the style of a visual novel , the player will take the role of Takashi Natsume as he travels through the town during the summer vacation, interacting with humans and yōkai in situations both emotional and mysterious.


Special edition and exclusive collector's content


Along with the standard edition, a limited edition has been announced that includes collectibles such as a special box , a postcard book , a Nyanko-sensei pin set , an A3 acrylic poster , a slipcase , a bromide card , and a promotional card for the Weiss Schwarz card game .


The game will offer support in Simplified Chinese , Traditional Chinese , and Japanese , with voice acting exclusively in Japanese.


Celebrating 15 years of anime and a story that lives on


The Natsume Yuujinchou anime premiered its seventh season on October 7 on TV Tokyo and on October 8 on AT-X. In Japan, it is available on platforms such as Netflix , d Anime Store and U-NEXT . Meanwhile, Crunchyroll handles its distribution in Europe , Latin America , Africa and other regions.


This year, the series celebrates its 15th anniversary since it began airing on television in 2008, cementing itself as a beloved work within contemporary Japanese anime.


A legacy that transcends generations


The original manga debuted in LaLa DX in June 2003 and has continued to be published in LaLa since 2007. Viz Media publishes the series in English, keeping alive the connection between readers and this world filled with yōkai , spirituality, and deep emotions.
