On
Wednesday, animator Yōhei Kameyama's official Instagram
account announced the second trailer for his new CG animated
short, Milky☆Subway:
The Galactic Limited Express, a direct sequel to his previous work Milky☆Highway. In addition to the trailer, the main
image, new voice cast members, and the premiere date: July 3 were
presented.
The anime
will use as its opening theme a version of "Gingakei Made Tonde
Ike!", a song originally performed in 1977 by the idol trio Candies,
and promises a retro-futuristic approach with great humor and visual charge.
Stellar

The new
voice actors announced for this production are:
- Hisako

- Mikako
Komatsu as Ryōko
- Kōki
Uchiyama as Kurt
- Makoto
Koichi as Kanata
- Yoshitaka
Yamaya as Max
The
protagonist Chiharu will be played by Momoko Terasawa,
while Anna Nagase will voice Makina. In the
original 2022 short, those roles were played by Mizuki Fumisuki and Kana

Global
premiere with multi-language dubbing
Milky☆Subway will premiere on July 3 at 2:54
p.m. (Spanish time) through the Tokyo MX channel and
will also be available on YouTube simultaneously. Dubbed
versions in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Chinese, Thai, Indonesian,
French, Hindi, and Russian will be available from launch.
A cosmic
comedy on wheels
The story
revolves around Chiharu and Makina, a girl with
superhuman abilities and a cyborg who are arrested for breaking space traffic
laws. In prison, they meet other peculiar companions: Akane and Kanata,
a pair of superhumans, and the cyborgs Kurt and Max.
Officer Ryōko sentences them to do community work cleaning up
the Milky☆Subway interstellar train.
Everything
seems calm... until the train unexpectedly departs into deep space,
unleashing a series of chaotic and comical situations.
No purpose! No principles! No meaning!
A space comedy like never seen before, driven only by the impulse of its absurd
energy.
A
handmade production by Kameyama
Yōhei
Kameyama repeats
as director, screenwriter and producer of the project, in addition to being in
charge of character design, modeling, animation, editing and other
technical sections. His previous short film Milky☆Highway, released in 2022 as his graduation
project at the Kadokawa Vantan Game Academy, has accumulated more
than 6.75 million views between its versions with and without
English subtitles.
