The anime
adaptation of Bungo Stray Dogs celebrates nine years since
its premiere in Japan on April 7, 2016, and the franchise is
already preparing multiple commemorative activities for its tenth
anniversary in April 2026. Between July and September 2025,
special events, collaborations and merchandising launches are scheduled to kick
off this year of early celebration.
July: Official illustration for the ninth anniversary
The first
surprise comes with a commemorative illustration showing the
members of the Port Mafia posing next to the number "9".
This visual directly celebrates the anime's nine years, highlighting the
group's most charismatic side.
August:
Culinary collaboration with Dashichazuke In
From August
5 to September 15, the ochazuke restaurant chain Dashichazuke En will
carry out a collaborative campaign. The reason is that ochazuke –
rice with green tea – is the favorite dish of Atsushi Nakajima, the
protagonist of the series. The collaboration will be available at all of the
chain's branches in Japan, with additional details to be revealed soon.
September:
The "Bunsto Autumn Festival" at Animate
Starting September
12, Animate stores in Japan and abroad and their online
store will host the "Bunsto Autumn Festival," a
special campaign that includes a new illustration of Port Mafia members
traveling through Kyushu. This play on words with "Kyushu" (the
region) and "Kyu-nen" (nine years) will be the focus of the
travel-themed products.
Featured
items include acrylic stands, holographic badges, mini
suitcases, and keychains shaped like a locker key.
Themed
shops in Tokyo and Osaka
In
addition, temporary "Bungo Stray Dogs Only Shop" stores will
be opened in the main branches of Animate:
- Ikebukuro (Tokyo): from October 10 to 26.
- Umeda (Osaka): from September 20 to
October 5.
A stand
with the visual of the ninth anniversary will be installed in both
premises and commemorative products such as acrylic stands and collectible
badges will be on sale. More details on the available products will be
announced soon.

Bungo Stray Dogs
The anime
series adapts the seinen action-mystery manga created by Kafka
Asagiri (story) and Sango Harukawa (art). Since its
premiere in 2016, the anime has had five seasons and a total
of 51 episodes, in addition to the film Bungo Stray Dogs:
DEAD APPLE released in 2018. Currently, Crunchyroll streams
all seasons of the anime, including the feature film.
Expelled
from his orphanage and on the verge of starvation, Nakajima Atsushi meets
two very peculiar men: Dazai Osamu, a suicidal man who tries to
drown in broad daylight, and Kunikida Doppo, a methodical man who
constantly takes notes. Both are members of the Armed Detective Agency,
famous for solving cases that neither the police nor the military dare to
touch. Atsushi ends up involved in a mission to eliminate a man-eating tiger
that terrorizes the city...
