Following
the airing of the final episode of season 2 of The Apothecary Diaries in
Japan, the anime's official accounts released a new teaser announcing the
production of a sequel that will be set in a new land.
At the moment, the release date and further details have not been revealed.

the anime series and its production
The
anime of The Apothecary Diaries is directed by Norihiko Naganuma (The Bride of
the Ancient Magician) who is also in charge of the composition of the series.
The assistant director is Akinori Fudesaka (Tsuredure
Children). The production is a collaboration between TOHO animation
STUDIO and OLM. The original story was written by Natsu
Hyuuga, with illustrations by Touko Shino.

The Apothecary Diaries about?
Maomao led
a quiet life with his father, an apothecary. But one day she is sold as a
servant to the imperial palace. However, she is not meant to be a mere slave of
the nobility. When the royal heirs fall ill, she decides to intervene to find a
cure, which catches the attention of Jinshi, a handsome palace official who
supports her. Now, Maomao earns a reputation for solving medical
mysteries.
