The A-1
Pictures studio surprised fans during its panel at the Anime
Expo 2025 by revealing the first trailer and an
official visual image of the highly anticipated anime
film Eisen Flügel.
The
original story was created by Gen Urobuchi, while the film's
general direction is in charge of Seiji Mizushima. Directed
by Daizen Komatsuda, with Keigo Sasaki's adaptation
of Takashi Takeuchi's original character designs (TYPE-MOON).
In addition, Kiminori Itō is responsible for the original
character sketches.
A
project that took almost two decades to materialize
Gen
Urobuchi shared an emotional comment on the long road of this production:
"In its
early days, a company called NITRO PLUS was given the opportunity to create a
theatrical animation. The screenwriter presented a proposal about a competition
in a distant world between a dragon and a jet to determine who dominated the
sky. He was asked to turn that idea into a one-season anime, but the project
was forgotten. Years later, the idea resurfaced in the form of a two-volume
novel and finally, thanks to Aniplex, Eisen Flügel will be able to become the
film it was always destined to be."
Technical
team and production that promises in the result
The music
is composed by the renowned Yuki Kajiura. As for the mechanical
design, Kanetake Ebikawa, Takayuki Yanase and Fumihiro
Katagai participate. The dragon is designed by Tatsuya
Yoshikawa, with art direction by Kusanagi and scenario
research supervision by Seiichi Shirato. The sound direction is led
by Masafumi Mima.
The
original novel was published in 2009 under the Gagaga Bunko imprint
with illustrations by Higashiguchi Chūō. The film was originally
announced during the Aniplex Online Fest 2022 event.
Eisen
Flügel promises
a unique story that combines elements of fantasy and technology, highlighting
an epic battle between dragons and jets for dominance of the skies.
