Publisher
Shueisha confirmed
that the manga Tales of the Kingdom (Ōkoku Monogatari),
the work of renowned author Asumiko Nakamura, will come to an end
with the next chapter. The final chapter will be published in the December
issue of Ultra Jump magazine, which will be available on November
19, which corresponds to November 19, 2025 at 17:00 (Spanish time,
UTC+2).
A tale
of beauty, darkness and intertwined destinies
The story
revolves around Adarte, a young man with purple eyes, and Adolte,
with blue eyes. While one is a noble son surrounded by light, the other is a
prisoner shrouded in shadows. Both are destined to follow opposite paths in a
realm where beauty is celebrated as heroism, and mystery is relegated to the
margins. A story that combines fantasy, drama and symbolism with
Nakamura's characteristic aesthetic.
A work
that marked a stage in Nakamura's career
Tales of
the Kingdom began
serialization in April 2017 in the pages of Ultra Jump.
Since then, the series has gained notoriety for its mature approach, symbolic
narrative, and detailed visual art. The fifth compilation volume was
published in January 2024 in Japan, while its English version,
by Yen Press, was released on September 17.
An
early, but significant farewell
With her
next and final chapter, Asumiko Nakamura will close a project that, for more
than seven years, has captivated readers with its emotional depth and poetic
atmosphere. Although the end feels close, the work has already left an
indelible mark on fans of alternative manga and stories that transcend the
conventional.
