The author of Bleach reveals why he had a hard time drawing his heroines

Legendary mangaka Tite Kubo has never minced words when interacting with his fans, and this time he gave us a pretty sincere and funny confession. During a recent Q&A, the author behind the immensely popular Bleach franchise openly admitted what has been the biggest and most frustrating technical challenge of his entire career: learning how to draw voluptuous female proportions correctly.

Although today he is recognized worldwide for the impeccable and stylized character design of heroines such as Rangiku Matsumoto, Orihime Inoue and Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck, the reality is that the author suffered quite a bit in his beginnings. Kubo explained that when he was just starting to illustrate, he preferred to draw girls with much smaller, flatter figures simply because they were much easier to handle on paper. However, his artistic perfectionism forced him to practice obsessively and tirelessly until he completely mastered the anatomy of large breasts, recognizing that this visual element was the one that caused him the most headaches and frustrations in front of the restirador.

All that sweat and tears on paper definitely ended up shaping her current tastes in a rather comical way. True to his irreverent personality, the author finished off his confession by assuring that nowadays he chooses his favorite girls based purely and exclusively on their curves. The more voluptuous the heroine in question, the higher she manages to climb within her coveted personal list of favoritisms, proving that all her hard work of research and practice was absolutely worth it.

Seeing the incredible level of detail and the marked visual style that the author managed to impregnate in each of the women in his work
