The official site of the anime adaptation of the manga Yofukashi no Uta (Call of the Night), written by Kotoyama, announced on Friday new additions to the cast and musical details for its long-awaited second season.

The renowned seiyuu Tomokazu Sugita will play LG, a character who acts as a follower of Midori Kohakobe, thus expanding the universe of vampires and humans that are intertwined in the story.

Creepy Nuts will put rhythm to vampire nights

Popular duo Creepy Nuts are back in charge of the theme songs, performing both the opening theme "Mirage" and the closing theme "Nemure." It should be noted that the original title of the manga comes from a song by the same duo, which was also used as the opening theme in the first season.

Premiere date and broadcast details

The second season of Call of the Night will premiere on Friday, July 5 at 05:30 (Spanish time) on the Noitamina programming block of the Fuji TV channel and its affiliates in Japan. The HIDIVE platform will be in charge of broadcasting the series internationally as it is broadcast.

More voices join this new stage

In addition to Sugita, it has been confirmed that:

  • Rina Satō will play Kiku Hoshimi, a seductive woman who conquers Mahiru, Kō's friend.
  • Maaya Uchida will play Haru Nanakusa, a nurse who bears a resemblance to Nazuna.

A review of the first season

The first season aired in July 2022 under the direction of Tomoyuki Itamura (known for the Monogatari saga) and with LIDEN FILMS in charge of the animation. The script was written by Michiko Yokote (ShirobakoBleach) and the character designs were the work of Haruka Sagawa.

The original story was published in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine between August 2019 and January 2024, with a total of 20 compilation volumes. The work mixes romantic comedy, vampires and nocturnal explorations with a unique sensibility that conquered readers.

What is Call of the Night about?

Young Kō Yamori leads an empty life until he meets Nazuna Nanakusa, a mysterious vampire who invites him to experience the freedom of the night. Kō wants to become a vampire, but to do so he must fall in love with Nazuna... a more difficult goal than it seems when the past begins to come between them.
