Hitori
Goto's guitar will have to wait a while to sound on paper again. It has been
officially announced that the Bocchi the Rock! manga will go
on an indefinite hiatus starting this month. The decision
responds to health problems affecting its creator, Aki Hamaji.
The news
was confirmed by publisher Houbunsha in the March issue
of Manga Time magazine Kirara MAX, which is now on sale. In a
personal message included in the publication, Hamaji expressed his deep
gratitude to readers and regretted the interruption, emphasizing that this
break is necessary to be able to resume work in the best possible conditions.
State of
Bocchi the Rock manga and the future of anime
Although
there is no tentative return date, the publisher assured that the return of the
series will be announced in future editions of the magazine. The play, which
began regular serialization in 2018, has surpassed 3 million copies in
circulation thanks to its unique blend of comedy and social anxiety.
Despite
this pause in the print format, there is a glimmer of hope for Kessoku
Band fans: production on the anime's second season is
still underway by studio CloverWorks. This guarantees that the
adventures of Bocchi and her friends will continue on screen while the author
recovers.
